Pink Pencil

“You can’t wait for inspiration - you have to go after it with a club”; so said Jack London. I was looking for visual inspiration to accompany the prompt word ‘Filthy’ for Inktober 2017, day 18 - I must have given up and decided to use the search for inspiration itself as my prompt. The original pencil was a giclee print, an edition of 10 in yellow, and smaller than this I think. It proved hugely popular, and like many people I love pencils (my first business card, in the mid ‘90s, was an orange pencil) so I decided to revisit the idea as a screen print. All 4 colours have sold out now, though there may be a few artist proofs buried somewhere…
